Matthew 23:11-12 says, "The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." NIV The flesh cries out for attention, and for some with those outgoing personalities, humility is even more difficult.
However, with the strength and power of the Holy Spirit working in each one of us, it's possible to put others before us and to serve them. No matter whether we are shy or outgoing, the Lord wants us to be humble. In His time and way, He always exalts the humble.

This is a hard lesson for us to learn. It's easier to be selfish and look out for our own wants, but Jesus so clearly shows us that we need to follow His example of being a servant. Thank you for this reminder of that!
Humility. I once prayed that I would walk humbly before God all the days of my life. The very next day I was humbled in the most personal of ways. He hears our prayers. And sometimes, I don't like His answer. But I see it was for my good.
